I noticed, however, that most such post are asking for votes with nothing additional posted.
Great way to increase vote count for the poster, but if there is nothing at the end for the voter, people, me the first, will stop voting.

I suggest to people who want to use it, to just use it fairly.

How do you add the Thank You button?

It's easy scott.

When you write a new article or when you reply to an article, notice the two lines of icons above the text entry box.
The last icon of the second row (underneath the «change color» drop down menu icon) is the one to use to place hidden content. Members then need to give you thanks to see that part of the post.

Of course, admins and mods can see the hidden content without thanking the poster. It's part of our job to keep SWAK clean.

use [hides]  and put your post and than put [/hides] at the end  . Remove the "s" in the word hide.

Not that i am the best at this, but i think a "thank you" should be given for all posts you like.  I will try and follow my own advise!

It is simple leo.
In any post where you want to hide something, put what you want to hide between the hide tags [hides]  [/hides] (replace hides by hide in both tags, that is remove the letter "s" in both instance of the word hide.)

EXAMPLE for which you'll need to give me thank by clicking on the thank you button for this particular post in order for you to see it for yourself:
This is my hidden text that has generated me a thank you from you.
So here is something to thank you in return.

But when you hide, you as the owner can still see the link
others cannot see it unless they click at the thanks button
